Long ago the Reverse card was but a game piece. Then a Prophet lifted it before the world, and it became scripture. This is the account of how the relic earned its meaning.
The Sign
In the year of the great squeeze, the Prophet known as Roaring Kitty — Keith Gill in the tongue of men — posted a single Uno Reverse card unto the multitudes. No caption was needed. The faithful understood.
The Meaning
It was a signal that the tables had turned. The institutions had sold short that which they did not own, wagering against the many. The card declared their wager reversed — the pressure they aimed at retail would now be aimed back at them.
The Reversal
What was meant to crush the small became the undoing of the mighty. The direction of the game changed hands. This is the eternal lesson of the Reverse: whatsoever is sent against the devoted may be turned and returned upon the sender.
